My lovely Miss Lauren is 5-years-old! She wanted a Unicorn Flying Pony party and invited her fairy friends to celebrate with her. The fairies made jewelry, searched for the flying unicorn and ate unicorn horn cupcakes in our backyard.
Her favorite gifts were from her grandparents: tap shoes and a stuffed flying unicorn. Doesn't that sound like Lauren?

What a sweatheart! I can just see her, holding her flying unicorn, tapping off to neverland. Where does the time go? It seems like yesterday we were in Scanton, waiting for Lauren's birth. Her arrival was an exciting and scary time, much like her everyday life. We love you!
Lauren,
You are so beautiful on your 5th birthday!! We love those flowers in your hair. You are a "real princess"!
We hope you had a fun birthday with your flying unicorn. And especially we are happy you liked your new tap shoes. You will have a lot of fun tapping and dancing around. We wish we could live closer so we could see you dance for us.
Now to all of you. . . .
Tonight Grandpa and leaders in two wards had a wonderful spook alley scout party down in the barn below our house (even farther down than the chickens' coop). They had all kinds of "scary" stuff to feel throughout the spook alley like brains, eyeballs, etc. (not real ones!). They had a very very big spider that "scared" those "brave" scouts as it came down on their heads while going through the spook alley! (The spider was not real either.) There were goblins and skeletons also. Then there were donuts and apple juice at the end. Grandpa and the scouts built a big bondfire outside and Grandpa even told his story about "The Cremation of Sam Magee". Have you ever heard Grandpa tell that story? Anyway, we had a lot of fun and now it's time for bed.
We loved looking at your 5th Birthday picture, Lauren! You are growing up so fast! We love you and ALL of you!
