Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny

I feel like summer has officially arrived with our first visit to Possum Kingdom Lake with the Houghtons. We had a lazy day of swimming, Smore eating, four-wheeling, and boating. Brad and Zach got up on water skis for the first time. They all piloted a kayak. Zach made a detailed list of the things he wanted to do before he left and will make one for the next time he goes.

4 Wet Heads, Noses, Smiles

As redundant as it is to wash four heads and four bodies every night and as painfully boring it is to brush and floss their teeth before they zoom away, how grateful I am for those four smiling heads. Sweet are the days of four sets of jammies and clean "bigs" and panties. When Brad sneaks out of bed and asks to snuggle on the couch, I hate to turn him away because one day he won't want to snuggle. One day, everyone will find their own underwear and put it on themselves. And one day, the bathroom door will slam shut for privacy sake.

My Bella Dancerella

I just found the cd of photos from Lauren's ballet class. It had gotten buried under "life" and other paper work. I love her devilish smile. It seems to say, "I'm slightly embarrassed." While at other times it says, "No, I don't know where the sissors are." or "I'm the silliest girl ever. Watch my funny girl dance!"

Military Man

Check this guy out! Grandpa is 91 years old and wore this jacket while serving at the tail end of World War II. It is still a perfect fit!

Grandma and Grandpa Voorhees

Look at this amazing couple! On my last visit to Utah in March, Grandma was really tired. She was able to visit and have lunch on the first day, but wasn't able to the next day. It was precious to see the tender moments between two lovers, who after almost 69 years of marriage, may have to part for a short time. I am grateful for my testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ that will bring Grandma and Grandpa back together again eternally.

Lauren's French Braid, NOT!

I tried. It doesn't look like an adult did this hairstyle but I really did. Then I looked up shedoeshair.blogspot.com for some inspiration. Lauren has beautiful, long, straight hair that should be fun, so I will try again tomorrow.
